Westclox Bulls Eye Pocket Watch

Nothing like a good old American dollar pocket watch! Here’s an interesting look at the movement in a Westclox Bull’s Eye. The first Bulls Eye model was produced in 1929.

This particular style was introduced in the 1980’s and the Illinois based manufacturer was still stamping out watches into the 1990’s. Most Westclox pockets will have a date stamp, but none could be found on this late Bull’s Eye model.

It’s nice to see Made in USA on a watch, even if it contains plastic gears. In-depth company history can be found here.

I still have the pieces of mine someplace. It was my first pocket watch, bought at a jewelry store in the early 80s for 5 bucks, I think maybe for a birthday.

I have a Bulls Eye pocket watch that my grand father gave me. I know he had it for a long time and he gave it to me 30 years ago.
My question is this. How old is it? First it has no plastic gears. Second the face only says “Bulls Eye” with no second hand or “WestClox^.Third, the face doesn’t display “Made in USA” although that is stamped in the works.
