This is a U-Boat that caught our attention at a past Baselworld show. They call it the Chimera 48 Carbonio GMT (Ref. 7177). It’s an automatic chronograph powered by an ETA caliber 7754, which is a GMT version of the 7750. The movement features a custom rotor made from 925 silver, and they spun it around for the destro look.
The case is made from forged carbon that creates a swirly pattern unique to each piece. 48mm is the diameter, but that doesn’t include the huge titanium canteen crown. A bigger crown doesn’t always mean a deeper water resistance, as this piece is only rated for 50m.
The dial is a stenciled sandwich style with matte black on top and Super-LumiNova on the bottom. The GMT hand adds a bit of character wtih a cool burnt orange squiggly arrow pointing to your second time zone.
