Introducing Stella Watch Company’s latest release: the Ellis GMT. The New York based watch brand named this model after Ellis Island. The caseback features prominent Statue of Liberty artwork with an excerpt from The New Colossus (a poem featured on a bronze plaque located in the statue’s museum), which has become a symbolic message welcoming immigrants to America: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free.” It is said that more than 12 million immigrants traveled to Ellis Island between 1892 to 1954. The Ellis is an aptly named travel companion thanks to it being powered by a Sellita SW330-1 GMT movement – ideal for tracking the time in two time zones.
