Made in USA
In 2018 you have two choices for American watches: buy into confusing marketing hype and phrases like “built in Detroit” or “designed in LA” or you can own a watch like this that was actually 100% made in USA.
The Age
The exact age of this New York Standard pocket watch is unknown, however, what we do know is that the company itself was in operation from 1885 until 1929. It is estimated that the company produced between 8 and 10 million timepieces during its existence.
The Case
The hunter style case has a decorative engraving on the front and back covers featuring a peace dove in flight. The inside cover is stamped Premier, which was trademarked by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company around 1911. The dial is a crisp white in excellent condition, the perfect backdrop for the stunning blued steel hands. This watch would make and excellent gift or entry level vintage pocket watch. It would also be very nice as a desk clock.
