Are Invicta Watches Fake Rolex?
Invicta makes homage watches that are inspired by the designs of other major watch brands like Rolex, Omega, etc. The most well-known example is the Invicta Pro-Diver which looks almost identical to a Rolex Submariner from a distance. A Rolex Submariner will cost you over $10,000, but you can find an Invicta Pro-Diver automatic for under $100. Invicta is not trying to compete with Rolex, although we have customers who enjoying wearing both brands.
Are Invicta Watches Swiss Made, Made in Japan or China?
As discussed above, the Invicta watch company was founded in Switzerland over 100 years ago, until the 1980s, they were all Swiss made. Today, the current Invicta company produces watches with the Swiss Made label as well as Made in Japan. For example, Invicta has models powered by Swiss ETA caliber 2824-2 or Sellita caliber SW200-1 automatic movements, but it seems that a majority of their automatic timepieces are powered by the Seiko caliber NH35A (but they used to use more Miyota movements). As with many watch brands, despite the Swiss Made or Made in Japan label, this generally refers to the origin of the movement only. Most of the watch parts (case, dial, hands, bracelet, etc), most likely are made in China.
Are Invicta Watches Any Good?
The answer depends on who you ask. We sell Invicta watches, so we'll try to answer an unbiased as possible. Let's just say there are just as many haters of the brand as there are serious collectors. Invicta produces so many watch models, ranging from $50 to $1,500. It's meant to be an affordable brand and many collectors feel more value in having 50 Invictas compared to just one watch from a luxury company for the same price. They use solid movements that you can research on your own. As for their rubber straps, we have seen issues with them disintegrating after several years, and depending on the style, replacements may not be available. Keep that in mind. Other than that, liking the look of a watch is what matters most. If you see an Invicta you like, go for it!
