NOMOS Glashutte just launched 3 new limited edition Club Automatic watches, the third set in a series that commemorates 175 years of watchmaking in the Glashütte region of Germany.
To clarify, this release is not to celebrate 175 years of NOMOS. The brand has a long way to go before reaching such a milestone. NOMOS itself was established in 1990, but watches have been produced in their ‘hood for almost 2 centuries – starting with your boy Ferdinand Adolph Lange in 1845.
The “Anniversary” Club, as we’re calling it, comes in 3 colors. There are only 175 of each model available in the world:
- Onyx black (ref: 753.S1)
- Navy blue (ref: 753.S2)
- Olive green (ref: 753.S3)
These 40mm diameter stainless steel timepieces are powered by NOMOS in-house caliber DUW 5001. It sits 9.7mm tall on the wrist with the domed sapphire crystal. A deciding factor for a lot of folks is going to be the ~51mm lug-to-lug that the 40mm Club watches have.
The matte dials feature a concentric small seconds subdial at 6:00. All three colors have the same white hour markers that take turns switching from a bold Arabic font to sticks around the dial. The indices and rhodium-plated hands glow a blue hue of Super-LumiNova at night (we need to get our hands on one for proper lumeshot).
Blue and green Clubs come on a 20mm textile strap ($2,620 USD) while the black ships on a bracelet ($2,920 USD). Are you gonna join the club?
