How To Set The Time/date On A Cartier Tank Francaise Quartz Chronograph

How to set the time/date on a Cartier Tank Francaise Quartz Chronograph

We hope this video will help you figure out how to set the date and time on your Cartier Tank Chronograph watch w/ quartz movement. The video cut off before we could show you how to set the minutes, but we will attempt to explain here…

To set the date:
-Pull the crown out one click
-Twist the crown forward (quickly) for a few seconds. The minute hand will start turning very quickly.
-When the desired date and time is reached, push the crown back in place – or turn the crown again to stop it. It will stop after it reaches the minute it was in when you started the process.
-If you missed the desired date just twist backwards. The minute hand will move slowly in reverse. If you twist quickly again, the minute hand will start turning faster in reverse.

To set the hour:
-Pull the crown out one click
-Twist the crown forward one turn. The minute hand will start turning forward as if you just stepped into a time machine.
-When the desired hour is reached, push the crown back in place.
-If you missed the desired hour, just twist backwards.

To set the minutes:
-Pull the crown out two clicks (all the way)
-Twist the crown forward or backwards until you reach the desired minutes.
-When the desired minute is reached, push the crown back in place.

We do not guarantee this will work for your watch but it works for the watch in the video above.

Note: The hands move slowly, just about 1 minute per 12-hour revolution (about 5 seconds per hour).
Changing the date, therefore, will take 2 minutes per day. If you are 10 days behind, prepare to wait 20 minutes to get the date set correctly.

I have the same experience! It’s very frustration and makes me not want to change the date on my watch.

this works, But how do I calibrate the chrono hands (seconds, Minutes, hours) to position 0? Mine, the chrono starts at 37 seconds.
