New York City based watch company Deep Blue has announced a new brand of pilot watches they are launching called Air Blue.

The new precision pieces are inspired by aviation and aim to “capture the true essence of vital cockpit instruments and flying’s rich history.” They will be available in automatic and quartz, with case sizes that cover all wrist sizes: 41mm, 44mm, 47mm. You’ll also find AR coated sapphire crystals, screw-down crowns, and BGW9 blue SuperLuminova lume. We’re loving how they are using the Seiko caliber NH35 movements inside. There’s even going to be a chronograph collection!

Great choice on the name, considering how both lines are instruments for the blue, from the depths of the ocean to the open skies.

The new line is available first through Kickstarter, which means you have a chance to be one of the first with an Air Blue watch, and at a lower introductory price. Exactly half of the retail price to be exact! After the campaign, the prices will increase to retail at $399.

The timepieces are supposed to ship by October 15, 2015. So far all orders come with an eyeglasses style watch case and Remove Before Takeoff parachute tag (similar to this keychain from Oris). They are already at $26,000 of the $50,000 they need to make the project a go!
