interesting that it has the trip-lock but not the depth rating to go with it. any ideas why?

Saw the video and bought the watch.I’m very happy to have had the opportunity to decide after seeing the video. The only thing I’ve noticed that is missing is how the strap works to tighten around the wrist. It’s awesome.
Thanks guys, will keep watching!! Good job!

  6. Gorgeous watch! This would be the model I would buy of Rolex…but theres already a love in my life….Panerai!

Great video!!…what year is the “old” GMT from ?

I definetely like the old version better, and i´m actually buing one as we speak. The one im looking at is a 2003 model (Coke ,no holes vers. in mint) Anything i should be aware of with this year and does 4200 USD sound reasonable ?

  8. Ramin says:

thanx for the video ; I definitely like the new 50th aniversary model (116710) better and just FYI I am getting one today September 4th 2010 at very nice price so wish me luck :)

Great walkthrough the GMT Master II’s. The 16710 (Coke) was the first Rolex watch that “spoke” to me. A collegue of mine bought one a few years ago. It never left my mind. I bought the 116710 ceramic in january 2010. I have had the centerlinks brushed at my AD, looks fantastic.

You left out the laseringraved Rolex Crown i the crystal at 6 o’clock.

    Great comparison big thanks!

I like the new model GMT II (means new update).
I understand your feelings guys why you still love your old model.
My GMT II on my wrist look super great I love it. It shines like stars in the night. I’m so happy with this watch.

  15. Nicol Matheson says:

Great comparison. I’m currently sporting an update, given to me by my wife in return for her engagement ring late 2010… she got off lightly!
This watch is the favourite amongst my collection and I find myself wearing it most days.
I think the only way I’ll top it is with an Everose Daytona… but I may have to wait until my 50th!

i think on the particular 16710 you use on the video has a 3186 movement. i said this based on the lettering of ”II” on the dial which indicates 3186 movement. these models was produced by rolex on the later released of 16710 models. only rolex knows why. it’s kinda mystery. the good thing is it is officially launch on the newest 116710 IIc, which means it is indeed much better than 3185.

Awesome video. Thank you very much.

good comparison. I would have the old model with the larger lumination, , old bezel, but in ceramic, with the thinner case and the new bracelet completely polished. A bit of a hybrid would have been better. Also keep the GMT hand in red, give a better contrast than the green. I will purchase a GMT II 06 as preferred. Thanks.

Hi are the straps interchangeable between the master11. 16710 and the 11670 ? as I like the new strap on the 11670.

Hi John, many people wish the bracelets on the two models were interchangeable, but they are not. Don’t give up hope yet! Although the clasps are entirely different, you can always get the center links of the 16710 polished, or give the center links of the 116710 a satin finish. This, at least, can get you close to the look you’re going after.
