--------------

The Eterna KonTiki Four-Hands was part of the brand’s 2016 lineup. Right away you are probably thinking the extra hand points to 24 hour time or a second time zone. No, that’s not it. The 4th hand is a centrally located date hand aka pointer date. At first glance, it’s understandable why one might mistake this piece with a GMT, but look closely at the 31 markers. It’s a nice touch that Eterna decided to go for a shorter hand and keep the calendar on the inner part of the dial – most date hands reach to the outer limits of the dial, cluttering up the perimeter with markers that distract from the min/sec hashes. Off topic, this thing is a day (and night) lume monster thanks to the throwback triangle markers. They even put a cute little lume dot on the date hand, nice! The original model had a brushed and polished combo finish, but the previous owner had it all polished out – this is subjective, but you may find that it looks even better than the original. It’s not a minty piece by any means, but wear it, enjoy it, beat it up, polish it out, repeat.

Detailed Specs:

  • Reference: 1592.41.41.0217, 159241410217
  • Movement: “Eterna-Matic” automatic, Swiss made
  • Caliber: ETA 2836-2 base
  • Case Material: Stainless steel
  • Diameter: 42mm
  • Thickness: 11.7mm
  • Lug-to-Lug: 46mm
  • Black dial w/ KonTiki runic ornamentation
  • Crystal: Scratch-resistant sapphire
  • Band: Stainless steel bracelet
  • Double push-button deployment
  • Lug-Width: 22mm
  • Crown: Screw-down
  • Exhibition style caseback
  • Water Resistant up to 120m

Includes: Eterna manual/papers (open papers), hangtag with matching numbers, no hardwood box (it was here but the inner part was disintegrating and creating a mess everywhere, you wouldn’t want it!).

Condition: Very good overall with wear on the case, bezel, lugs and bracelet – even the caseback took some hits. The previous owner had it fully polished. Because of that, when on the wrist it won’t be easy for someone to spot the blemishes, but they do exist. The crystal is excellent. The bracelet will fit just under 8″, no extra links.
