Rolex Daytona 116520 Watch Review

Authentic Rolex DaytonaThis is a close-up HD video review of a stunning Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch. It is model 116520 and a D serial number from circa 2006 (Rolex serial number chart here). This watch is powered by an automatic chronograph movement with 44 jewels. It is a Rolex caliber 4130 (unlike older Daytona watches that used Zenith movements) and is a Certified Chronometer. Swiss made of course! This powerful engine is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case made of the highest quality 904 steel. The bezel is also high polished steel with a Tachymeter scale engraved around it. This watch stands 12mm high, which also happens to be about the same height as a Rolex Submariner. Another similarity to the Sub is the crown. Both watches are equipped with a Triplock screw-down crown. This helps the Daytona earn a depth rating of 100m or 330ft. The sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and has a laser-etched coronet (another word for a small crown with decorations worn by a nobleman or woman) located at 6:00. This is a security measure which assists in distinguishing whether a Rolex is genuine or not. Beneath the glass sits a beautiful black dial with silver rings circling three subdials. The seconds are placed at 6:00, a 30 minute dial is at 3:00, and a 12 hour indicator at 9:00. You may notice that there is no date window or cyclops lens featured on the Daytona. The steel bracelet is 20mm at the lugs has a flip lock clasp with three hidden micro adjustments. Since this particular watch is a D series, it has the older style clasp. With the steel bracelet installed, this watch weighs in at about 140g/5oz give or take depending on how it’s been sized. As of writing this review, the current retail price is set at $11,250.
